lol @rav3n 🤣. Some people in my family used to complain they had a big nose, so I had in the past said that they didn't have a large nose - a proboscis monkey does! ... they didn't think it was very complimentary though... 😅
I can totally see why your sister was upset with being called a proboscis as a child haha, but love that she has reclaimed it for herself now 😍.
I thought the Red Leaf was pretty cute too. It actually had a baby on its belly, but you can't see it in that photo. I have one of it, but you can't see the face of the adult in it, so I posted the funny/cute face instead.
@Chasingsunsets people often hope to see a manta ray in the Komodo region, but it's not a guarantee by any means. We were very lucky - esp as snorkelers not diving. Apparently as it approaches towards the Dec-Mar season (which is monsoon and thus not great for travelling) there is more chance due to manta ray migration. We were told it was about 50/50 chance in early November. Such a big area though, and for us to be able to find one especially in an open & not too deep (7 metres?) area was so lucky!
Not sure what my favourite part was. I like wildlife, so definitely the wildlife (not the hiking lol). I liked the ease of the car-based wildlife watching, and much easier to get focus than on a boat that is moving constantly lol. But I wish the car-based one had more roads they could go down (it was super remote, so there was literally 1 road that can be used for tourism due to the jungle). Always a delicate balance between environmental and tourism. The facilities that are there are for research and tourism is just a really new thing to the area.
