Hi @Shaz51 I hope the flu is on its last legs! I've had a very slow day today. I did have a shower this morning which is something I've achieved today. I've got my partner down from Queensland for another five days. Unfortunately, we have to attend his brother's funeral. I didn't know him that well even though I've been with his brother for 22 years! My partner is on the spectrum and is dealing with it in his own unique way. It's good to be able to support him!  💛

yes this annoying flu is on its way out , finally , it is because of my kidney disease stage 4 , 17% with only one kidney that the recovery took longer

Thank you @Shaz51 I just asked AI about stage 4 kidney disease. It said you can still live a long, healthy life. Is that right? Now I just read that you only have that one kidney!!! 😲 How does that work? Far out Shaz51. Will you be okay? Please don't answer if it will trigger you. I sometimes ask too many questions!! Sorry. 💛

I found out I was only born with one kidney @heartathome 

stage 4 kidney disease, the kidney is only working at 17% which means the kidney is struggling to do it job which causes all the toxins to be released into the body which causing other complications like heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and other problems like aches and pains and tiredness 

I need to have regular blood tests to see how everything is going, I am heading towards dialysis in the near future which I will be on for the rest of my life or get a Kidney transplant

I'm sorry to hear that @Shaz51 😔 It doesn't sound good! Are you on a list for a transplant or do you go on dialysis first off? How long have you known about your kidney? Enough questions for you for one night! 😉 I only ask questions because I want to get to know people more deeply. I know not everyone is up for sharing on such a personal level. Thanks for sharing this with me Shaz! 💛

@heartathome , I got an kidney infection in 2009 and a doctor gave me the wrong meds and my kidney went down to 9% , I could not wake up 

Ended up in hospital and got my level back up to 17% which I have been doing things and taking care of myself 

I don't know how long it will stay where it is but fingers crossed it will be a while before going on dialysis and then the transplant list

Thanks for the thread link @Shaz51 will definitely have a read and hope to chat there too, I am definitely thinking of you during this time. Have you heard of home dialysis? I knew someone on that some time ago but not sure now it works re approval/suitability for it. Obviously massive and not great that it will lead to dialysis but wondered if this is an option for you

I have my name down for home dialysis,  I plug myself on at bedtime for 8 hours 

First I need to get a fistula put in my arm and a plug in my stomach before I start 

Yes it is more gentle then 5 hours a day on the hospital machine which our hospital does not have

Good morning! Yes @Chasingsunsets rain makes it cooler. It is still balmy though. Going to be warm today (28) and horrid 33 Monday too hot for me. I’ll have to put shorts on. Still cool at this early hour. Don’t know if it’s still raining. Can’t hear any but I have tile roof. Will get out in the garden early.
