hey @Kylie007 welcome to the forums! 😊
i don't have OCD myself, but there are community members here that do - i'll tag a few in here who might be able to share soon. are you looking to gain new coping tools? or just hear about other people's journeys with OCD?
we also had a webinar in October about OCD, feel free to check out the video here: Recording // Mental Health Recovery Webinar // OCD... - SANE Forums

I’m bipolar too . I have meds for both OCD and bipolar. My gp directed me to increase my OCD meds as I had a relapse

Hey @creative_writer
I also have OCD and bipolar. I too was unable to take SSRIs due to it triggering the bipolar. The thing that really worked for me and made the OCD almost disappear was deep TMS. It was pretty expensive, but it was completely life changing. It’s non invasive and didn’t seem to trigger the bipolar.

Hey @creative_writer
It can be really hard talking to a psychiatrist. Especially about OCD because you know what you’re worried about is irrational and yet it still bothers you deeply. It’s great that you’re working with you psychologist though. Has she given you any recommendations for the thoughts? Please try to remember that it can and does get better. It just takes way more time than is fair.

@AuntGlow My OCD can be quite debilitating and prevents me from living a normal life . Do you find that yourself?

It can absolutely impact my daily life - I find that it makes it hard to sit with uncertainty/discomfort/self-trust. @Kylie007

Ah, yes, I experience this too. Have you been able to talk with your GP or a psychologist about these thoughts/feelings at all? @Kylie007
Also, I am curious to know if you have looked at the online OCD CBT support programs through This Way Up? 🥰

@AuntGlow I have spoken with my gp. No I haven’t heard about the online course

Okay, wonderful. What did your GP suggest? @Kylie007
This is the program:
https://thiswayup.org.au/what-we-treat/ocd
You can get it for free with a GP's sign-off, so I would really recommend looking into it! They can help to guide you and check-in. It's a great starting point.
You could also look into support groups, if connection/peer support is what you're after? https://supportgroup.mhfa.org.au/ocd-support-group
