I don't have compulsive spending, but I do have impulsive spending. 

I wonder if this stems from the same challenges as other compulsive behaviour?

Please note I am speaking from my own brain. I'm not a clinician by any means.

When I think about compulsive behaviour, I consider it to stem from a feeling of control. That is, when you are engaging in a compulsion, it is fulfilling a need of being in control of something, esp when emotionally, you may be feeling out of control. And when you can't engage in the behaviour, then you somehow feel something is out of control and that something 'bad' might happen. 

This is what it was for me when I was much younger. I had severe compulsions to 'check', 'double check', 'triple check'. And if I didn't check, then the emotional turmoil was so painful.

What are your thoughts on this? @Kei 

Hi @Kei do you compulsively spend on anything in particular? Years ago at different times I'd compulsively buy particular categories of things. I was also a hoarder. Now recovering.

Yes I guess the times I was buying there were difficult circumstances and maybe it was something that gave me agency too @Kei .

Good morning to you all. Sorry I havnt responded,  I had a car accident on Friday. Im ok, bit sore. My baby 🚗  is waiting to be assessed. I thought about my triggers over the weekend, I do go crazy if I know someone is looking for something and can't find it. Its like my mission is to find it. Takes over my brain. Anyone else have something similar?
