Suicide

hi,

I Have almost made it 12 whole months suicide free but right now i am struggling so bad. I have nasty ppl saying mean things some of my children being mean as well. There is lots going on and I just find myself not coping again. I don't know if I can continue so I thought to reach out for some support if that's okay??

Re: Suicide

Hi @Rusty6 and welcome to the forums,

You've been brave in reaching out, and we are glad to have you here.

It sounds as if you are dealing with a lot of complex emotions right now, and that you are feeling unsupported by the people around you.

If you are feeling unsafe, it's important you reach out to a crisis service:

-Lifeline on 13 11 14, they also have a webchat option on their website.

-Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467 who also have a webchat option.

I'm curious, what is one thing you might be able to do right, even a small thing, that might help you to self-soothe?

Re: Suicide

Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear things have been so hard @Rusty6 . I really hope you find a way to be kind to yourself.

Are there things you enjoy doing that will help you better cope?

Re: Suicide

Hey I don't know. I reached out to lifeline last night but they quick to dismiss when I try to explain how I was feeling. But I guess I could try them again. Thank u

Re: Suicide

Hey @Rusty6 , well done for reaching out in the first place. What i've known from Lifeline is that you are most likely going to have different people responding. While one may not be as supportive, others might be - bit of a hit and miss?

So I'd definitely encourage you to try again.

Can you do something to keep you busy for now?

Re: Suicide

I will try again but ATM I am listening to music as well. Sometimes that helps.

Re: Suicide

Good on you for giving things a go @Rusty6 . I hear that takes a lot of effort and energy.

I know you tried Lifeline. Have you also tried Suicide Call Back Service or Beyond Blue in the past?

Please know you are not alone.

Re: Suicide

I am thankful for all ur support but I think that's half of it, I do feel so alone right now. I cry it makes me feel worse bc it makes everything I have been through lately more real, I self harm but it's not enough. But I am trying lifeline still. I won't give up just yet. 🤗

Re: Suicide

I just got offline to lifeline and they just told me to take it slowly and keep reaching out as I need to. Thank u for making me feel welcomed here and that I'm not alone when I feel it so much

Hey @Rusty6 , feel free to tag me in whenever. You can do this by typing "@" in front of my username e.g. @tyme . This way, when i'm online, I can respond to your posts and wont miss them 🙂

For me, calling crisis lines isn't about having them 'fix' things. Often, even just having someone to hear you out can make such a huge difference. Same with being here. Whilst we cannot physically 'fix' things for you, we can help you feel less alone.
