workplace bullying anxiety

workplace bullying anxiety

hi everyone, I'm currently under a lot of stress and riddled with anxiety, as I'm taking my acting manager (45y/o) to HR for workplace intimidation/bullying and references to my personal social media and sick leave. She's supposed to be contacted this Thursday and I can't even express how horrible this feeling is. I'm not a cryer, but when I say that this emotionally immature vile woman made me cry so hard that my dad thought someone died, I'm not even exaggerating. She's been saying things like "I'M the manager and YOUR the employee." All because I confronted her for using another co worker to stalk my social media on my day off. work has been so awful since. She acts as if nothing happened, and then does it again. I don't know what to do apart from desperately look for a new job. I have 8 years in customer service / receptionist experience and I can't manage to get any call backs in my area. If anyone has any advice that would be much appreciated. I never thought I'd be typing a message on a public mental health forum, but I genuinely couldn't be more lost. thank you xoxo

Re: workplace bullying anxiety

Hello @ogień888

what you have described sounds very stressful - I hope you will be okay. In my experience, sadly, a lot of employers engage in social media stalking or other surveillance which is inappropriate and intimidating. I'm glad you reported it to the HR person, and I hope that person was supportive of you. I think that under the circumstances, it would be okay for you to take some sick leave to deal with the emotional fallout from of all this.

I have experienced workplace bullying myself. and a few times I left jobs due to bullying. I never reported it, but I should have.

If you want to talk about it further, I will be around today.

DD.
