Mid life males

Mid life males

Hi

im a mid life male who has struggled with depression since several relationship breakdowns and personal challenges.  Despite life’s challenges I keep going.  I now have the time to learn about myself and become a better me.

if there are any other mid life males, or females that this resonates with reach out

i enjoy walking and would like someone to walk and talk to that we can connect and discuss life’s twists and turns.  Or a casual coffee conversation

Hey @midlifemale

Also, thanks for the tag @hopeful_hannah

I wanted to take the time to thank you for reaching out and sharing a bit of your story. It takes so much courage to be vulnerable about the tough chapters of life, especially after navigating relationship breakdowns and personal challenges 💚

Your mindset is truly inspiring! The fact that, despite everything, you keep going and are viewing this chapter as an opportunity to learn more about yourself and grow is a massive testament to your resilience. That desire to become a better version of yourself is exactly what this journey is all about!

I know that what you're experiencing is something many of us have already experienced or will likely experience at some point in our lives. While I may not be at midlife yet, I do know from listening to others' experiences that it comes with many unexpected twists and turns, and having a safe space to unpack that without judgment is so important.

Take care of yourself 💚

Re: Mid life males

Hi @midlifemale

I am nothing but a stranger to you, but I humbly and kindly come here to say Hi.

I am in my quarter life so I have not much experience, but I resonate with what you say. I am in admiration and inspired by how you keep going regardless of your circumstances. With past relationships and friendships that didn’t go well, I really relate to that as well. We keep going and going though, because thats life. And we do our best everyday.

Its a good mindset to have when you think about being a better version of yourself everyday.

Warm regards to you friend!

Re: Mid life males

Hey @midlifemale ,

Thanks for sharing. I love both the username @midlifemale  and the thread name lol. I had to go back and read it a few times to makes sure I was reading the right thing!

From your post, I guess there's a wondering I have. Is the depression part of grief or has it surpassed grief and is depression depression?

I don't know.

Only because grief has it's own timeline. There's no end date to it. So is the support need more for grief or depression ?I guess that's my wondering.

Whatever it is, it sounds like the pain is real and raw.

I'm glad you have found some things to help you keep going and you want to learn more about yourself and become a better you.

It's always nice to come here to 'meet' people. Even if we never get to see others face to face, it's good to know that you are not alone - this is an anonymous forum.

How do you generally spend your days? Do you have much of a support network?
